We encourage everyone to consider public transit, biking, or walking to Portola—it helps reduce traffic, lowers emissions, and keeps things flowing smoothly for the entire community. But we also understand everyone’s journey is different, and some folks may need to arrive by vehicle. Here’s how to do it with care:
Entrance:
Take BART to 24th St. Mission Station and hop on the free Portola shuttle at the corner of Valencia St. and 24th St. to Pier 80. Have your Clipper Card, ID, and mobile ticket ready on the Portola or AXS App before you head to the event.
Shuttles will run on a loop between Pier 80 and 24th St. Mission BART Station 12:30pm - 11:30pm.
Avoid the toll lines and pay your BART/Muni fare ahead of time.
Muni provides train and bus service to the Pier 80 area, including extra train service and late station hours during Portola Music Festival. Get customize transit directions to and from Pier 80 using the SFMTA Trip Planner. Pay for Muni using your Clipper Card, digital Clipper card, or the Muni Mobile app. All Muni bus stops and T Third Train stops are accessible. More information about accessibility on Muni can be found HERE.
Heading to the event:
Leaving the event:

The last Southbound train making all stops to San Jose departs 22nd Street Station at 12:10 a.m.
Parking at Caltrain stations:
Caltrain reminds customers that open alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the trains beginning at 9 p.m. on special event days and nights.
